Somme to be explored in major new Derry play

A major new production telling the story of two men from Derry who fought at the Battle of the Somme is set for the Millennium Forum Theatre for one night only this November.

'Divided by History, United by Music' is a tale of two men who are worlds apart yet live strikingly similar lives.

The play portrays the story of two local musicians, John Love and James Downey, one from the Fountain and the other from Longtower who both fought during the Battle of the Somme but for different reasons.

Written by acclaimed Artistic Director Jonathan Burgess with new music commissioned by well known Musical Director Noel Barr, the poignant and sensitively protrayed play includes a cast of over 100 for the one night only production.
