Hunt for family of Belfast war soldier

The East Belfast and the Great War project is seeking the public's help in tracing relatives of a Royal Irish Rifles soldier from Belfast.

Researcher Jason Burke from the First World War inspired project has been given two bibles and photos of soldier Arthur Milligan as well as photographs and personal belongings of other soldiers.

Jason hopes the public can help to reunite the belongings with the descendants of Arthur Milligan, who is believed to have lived at 9 Utility Street off the Donegall Road in south Belfast.

The bibles and personal documents are said to offer a window into a soldier's world during the Great War.

The East Belfast and the Great War project will continue to try and unearth the personal details of the documents in a bid to find their rightful owners.
