Free digital workshops at Ulster Museum all summer

A series of free interactive workshops will take place the Ulster Museum this summer, allowing young people to creatively explore the historical events of 1916.

The Creative Centenaries project in partnership with Nerve Belfast are offering free workshops for young people aged 8-14 to learn more about the Easter Rising and Battle of the Somme through digital practices.

Animating with iPads workshop

Friday 8 July, Saturday 9 July, Saturday 6 August

Times: 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm

Use laser cut characters and props with green screen to create a stop motion animation about the Easter Rising and Battle of the Somme.

Programme a game workshop

Friday 29 July, Saturday 30 July

Times: 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm

Learn new facts about some of the key events from 1916 and programme your own quiz game to test your friends and family.

Virtual reality workshop

Friday 22 July, Saturday 23 July

Times: 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm

View virtual reality films developed specifically about 1916 then create your own virtual reality film with you in it!

These workshops are organised alongside the Nerve Centre's #MakingHistory 1916 Exhibition which runs at the Ulster Museum until September 18 and looks at the creative forces at play during a year of destruction.
