About this Event

A talk is taking place on 12 May 2021 about the men from the island of Ireland who fought in the First World War.

This free online talk is hosted by the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and the Antrim & Down Branch of the Western Front Association. It will feature a presentation by Piet Chielens, director of the In Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres. Chielens has been the director of the museum for 25 years, and was also the artistic director of Peace Concerts Passchendaele from 1992 to 2007. He aims for a constant renewal of the memory of the Great War in Flanders, and to give special attention to the ways in which personal and national histories can be linked.

This free event takes place on Zoom at 8pm on 12 May 2021.
