Reflections on the Centenary of the Government of Ireland Act

Queen’s University Belfast hosted this virtual event in December 2020 to commemorate and reflect on the centenary of the Government of Ireland Act.

The event brought together political representatives from across these islands to contribute different perspectives on the act’s passage and its legacy, deepening a shared understanding of this event and encouraging an inclusive approach to the centenary.

This was followed by a panel discussion with the historians Fearghal McGarry, Mary Daly and Lord Bew, exploring the key moments that influenced the act’s eventual passage and its provisions.
