Creative Centenaries at European Heritage Open Days

Creative Centenaries are involved in this year's European Heritage Open Days on September 10 and 11, with a number of workshops, perforances and showcase of innovative tech.

We're teaming up with Ulster Museum for two genealogy workshops including 'Basis for Sound Genealogical Research' at 12pm and 'Soldiers and Rebels' at 2pm.

The workshops are both organised in partnership with the museum and are delivered by Eneclann, leading Irish genealogy firm, who will also provide free access to more than 100 million Irish records on Findmypast and over 2 billion records for the rest of the world. Advice from a genealogy expert will also be available.

Throughout the day at the museum, Creative Centenaries will allow the public to dress in period costume and use green screen to send themselves back in time to the events of 1916.

Virtual reality headsets will also be available, showcasing life on the front line and in the trenches at the Battle of the Somme.

We're also teaming up with classical duo Voice and Verse for a number of music performances at St Anne's Cathedral.

The Cathedral will be open to the public throughout the day and Voice and Verse, who play music from and inspired by the events of 100 years ago, will perform at 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.
