Two roundtable discussions and talks to address the role of women during the Decade of Commemorations.
Taking place at Maynooth University in January and April 2016, the events will focus on women and the decade of commemorations as a corrective to the current national conversation, seeking to showcase the scholarly and creative work of women working in an Irish cultural context, as well as to initiate discussion about women of the period of a century ago.
On Tuesday, January 19, the roundtable discussion will feature Dr Roisin Higgins (Teesside University), Dr Sinead Kennedy (Maynooth University) and Dr Emilie Pine (University College Dublin).
Scholars, writers, art practitioners, activists and community workers are invited to attend to participate in roundtable discussions, with the longer term goal of establishing an inclusive, all-island commemoration network.
This event is supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs.
