Winifred Carney

Helga Woggon, the biographer of Winifred Carney, will deliver a talk on the trade unionist on Friday 16 September on September 16.

Taking place in Cultúrlann, Derry, the talk will explore the life of Carney, the socialist, republican and suffragette who was at James Connolly's side in the GPO during the 1916 Rising.

The evening will also feature a brief launch of Emmet O'Connor's latest booklet 'Derry Labour in the age of agitation 1889-1923'.
