Fr. Louis O'Kane was fascinated by revolutionary events since he saw some of them taking place while a boy on the streets of Magherafelt.
Half a century later, he interviewed dozens of former Irish Volunteers about that period, including more than twenty from south Derry.
This talk by historian and author Dónal McAnallen will examine the life of O'Kane and what we learn from his tapes about South Derry one hundred years on.
This event is organised by Libraries NI.
