An exhibition examining how the First World War impacted on the lives of local people in County Down is on display now at Down County Museum.

The Peace III funded exhibition explores events from the outbreak of hostilities to the end of the war and its aftermath.

The exhibition uses the personal storues of local people from County Down at home and at war as well as extracts from local newspaper to illustrate how the war affected families, individuals, working patterns and other aspects of daily life.

Artefacts from the period which belonged to local people, including letters, postcards, medals and uniforms, are also included in the exhibition which runs until June 30.
