HEADLAND is a major exhibition of new work by Elizabeth Magill (born 1959), one of the most intuitive and highly respected painters of her generation.
HEADLAND contains new and recent work and focuses on Magill’s developing practice and current interests. Her approach to painting is always experimental, allowing for previous techniques to give way to newer ones to form an unfolding process. Magill has described her relationship with landscape as developing from her own thoughts and responses: ‘although my work refers to landscape it is more like an exterior view, an attempt to create a setting or space to place things, a kind of deposit of thoughts and observations…’.
This exhibition is free to attend at the Ulster Museum.
