A joint conference by PRONI and Antrim and Down Western Front Association branch will look at the role of sport in Ireland during the First World War.

Featuring a range of diverse panelists and speakers, the event will include two panel discussions looking at the 'Home Front' and 'At The Front'.

Speakers include Tara Lynne O'Neil who will discuss women's football during the Great War and Dónal McAnallen who will speak about how the GAA reacted and was impacted at the time.

Dr Tim Bowman and Tom Thorpe will sit on the afternoon panel discussion, delivering talks on 'Recruiting Sportsmen's Battalions in Ireland' and 'The Military Value of Sport'.
